Massarosa Literary Prize: Chiara Bianchi triumphs with Il canto della fortuna.

On Saturday, November 15, the Teatro Vittoria Manzoni hosted an evening full of emotions for the finale of the 39th edition of the Massarosa Literary Award (PLM), which saw a large audience turnout and strong community engagement.

The main prize was awarded to Chiara Bianchi for her novel The Song of Fortune (Adriano Salani Editore), which won the enthusiastic vote of the popular jury. The book tells the story of the rise of the Rizzoli family, spanning two wars, profound social changes, and the contradictions of contemporary Italy. A saga that combines historical drama with the portrait of visionary entrepreneurship capable of shaping an entire century.

The technical jury’s recognition went to Flavia Gasperetti for When the Truth Arrives, It Is a Storm (Bompiani), awarded for the depth of the story and the quality of the writing. The Cover Design Award, voted on by students from the Multimedia Art High School and ISI Carlo Piaggia in Viareggio, went to Everything Between Us Is Infinite by Nicola Campiotti (Sperling & Kupfer).

As is tradition, the evening was a true spectacle, featuring live music and theatrical performances that brought the finalists’ works to life. Representatives of institutions were also present, including Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region, who highlighted the cultural and civic value of the award.

Mayor Simona Barsotti emphasized the importance of culture in a complex historical period, calling it “the only weapon capable of building peace and a future.” The Massarosa Award continues to grow, fostering an ever-larger and more dynamic community of readers and authors.

The Fondazione Pomara Scibetta ABC, always close to initiatives that promote literature and creativity, enthusiastically celebrates the success of this edition and the contribution the PLM brings to the national cultural landscape.
